Andrew "Andy" Murray (born May 15, 1987) is a Scottish professional tennis player who is currently the highest-ranked British player. Murray broke into the official ATP Top 10 for the first time on 16 April 2007, and reached a career-high of No. 4 after the 2008 U.S. Open, in which he reached the final, losing to Roger Federer. Murray was seeded ninth at the 2008 Australian Open, his first time in the Top 10 seeds at a Grand Slam, but lost to eventual runner-up Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the first round.
